It is by far one of my favorite granites available today. I have seen so many customers choose this for their island alone and something different for the perimeter of their kitchen and vice versa.
It looks great both ways depending on what it is paired with. This is a fad where people use a different material color for their kitchen island. Trust me it is a very bold statement and will gain lots of compliments as well as appreciation.
Steel Gray Granite is a remarkable stone with its' consistent pattern and bold color. This granite is another option that people often mix up using for either the perimeter of their kitchen or the island using a different granite material for the perimeter of their kitchen.
One of my favorite jobs I installed for a customer of mine was Steel Gray Granite perimeter and Viscon White Granite for the island with a beautiful pattern that moved along the backsplash and riser of the two-tier island. Steel Gray Granite can be polished, honed, or even leathered which gives it even more texture and character. Choose what is best for your taste and kitchen.
Leathered is actually one of my favorites on most black granite countertop materials but I also like Steel Gray Granite with the polished top. It is sometimes hard to choose what you will like better.
One thing to consider is that the leathered or honed textures will help in preventing scratching. It is less likely to be visible with these textures on your granite countertops.
Black Pearl Granite is used in so many homes because of the beauty it offers and the darkness it gives.
This material is pretty consistent in color and pattern allowing it to be an easy option for someone not wanting too much character. Black pearl also comes with different textures such as honed and leathered as well as polished.
I like them all but polished with this material seems to be the going choice from my past customers for this black granite. These slabs come extra-large also which can be a good thing for seam placement or large black granite countertop islands.
Absolute Black Granite is exactly what the name says it is. Pure black beauty that will greet guests with wow and look at me.
This material is not easy to talk about because it is pretty simple but definitely makes a bold statement. Absolute Black Granite is another favorite of mine and is often mixed up with the island and perimeter being different materials.
It also comes polished, leathered, and honed. When I was in the granite business as a fabricator this was not a popular choice for a kitchen however, it was a popular choice for a bathroom vanity top.
Absolute black is really stylish with all colored cabinet options and floor colors. This material really stands out with wood color cabinets and floors. I have seen a lot of cabins using this material with knotty-looking cabinets, walls, and floors. It really pops.
Black Galaxy Granite is another favorite black granite for me and many other people. This black granite features solid black granite with copper flecks throughout. This is a one-of-a-kind material and like no other black granite.
If you have copper appliances, sinks, faucets, and cabinet hardware in your kitchen this material will really pop.
Black galaxy is a black granite countertop that I will forever enjoy and will likely be the granite I use for the island in my next home.
